ThinkFM 2016 to be hosted by broadcaster Kirsty Lang

The ThinkFM conference has announced its host for 2016 – Kirsty Lang.

Kirsty will be facilitating the one day conference on 18 May 2016, which is all geared around the topic of productivity.

Kirsty is a diverse and unique broadcaster, presenter and facilitator, with an impressive and deep knowledge of politics, economics and current affairs, and a passion for the arts. She brings gravitas and professional polish to the Radio 4 arts magazine programme Front Row, and is a recognisable face from her Channel 4 news presenting days.

After reading International Relations at the London School of Economics followed by an MA in Journalism from City University, Kirsty began working for the BBC as a graduate trainee in 1986. She began working on programmes such as Today and The World at One and in 1989 she became a central European correspondent for BBC World Service in Budapest. During this time she covered the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Balkans conflict, after this she became a reporter for the BBC’s Newsnight. Kirsty worked briefly for the Sunday Times in Paris, before joining Channel 4 News in 1998 as a studio presenter and news reporter.

In 2002 Kirsty returned to the BBC at the time the new digital channel BBC 4 was launched and she presented the evening news programme World News Today. She is a regular presenter for ‘Front Row’ on Radio 4, where she demonstrates her knowledge of the arts, film, literature, film, media and music.

Kirsty has contributed to publications including The Times and the Radio Times; in 2008 she was Chair of the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2008.

She is visiting Professor at Columbia University and a regular chair at conferences in the public and private sector where clients have included The Qatar Foundation, IMB, BMA and many more.
